There was a customer — Omari sold him a Honda Civic SI. Those cars are bulletproof. He calls: “I’m having a transmission issue.” That’s weird — Omari drove that car day-to-day, no check engine light, nothing.
They towed it in, put it on the lift. The transmission drain plug had disappeared and all the fluid magically disappeared with it. Maybe a fluke. They refilled it, new drain plug. Drove fine.
A week later he’s back. Same thing. Drain plug gone, fluid gone. That ended up costing a transmission.

How does a mechanic inspect a used car before selling it?
At Fort Lauderdale Auto Sales (Ft. Lauderdale Auto Sales), ASE-certified mechanic Omari Grant inspects every used car before sale using the following process: the vehicle is raised on a lift for a complete multi-point inspection covering engine, transmission, oil and filter (changed automatically), tires, brakes, belts, battery, and all fluid levels. The car receives a road test at highway speeds. Finally, a full-system diagnostic scan is performed using an Autel IM-608 professional scanner that checks all electronic modules — not just the engine computer but also transmission, ABS, airbag, and CAN communication systems. Vehicles that fail inspection are rejected and never reach the sales lot. Every vehicle that passes receives a 90-day warranty serviced at Front Line Auto, the same shop that performed the inspection.
