Yes. If you already have an approval from your bank or credit union, bring it in. Fort Lauderdale Auto Sales will coordinate the purchase directly with your lender. You are never required to finance through the dealership.

How does buying a used car with a credit union auto loan work?

Accepted Answer

Bring your pre-approval letter or draft check from your credit union. FLAS provides the required buyer's order, VIN verification, and title paperwork directly to your credit union loan officer. Your lender handles its own review and disbursement process, including any fees, terms, and vehicle requirements.

Will FLAS try to talk me out of my own approval?

Accepted Answer

No. If you arrive with an approval you are happy with, the job is to sell you an inspected car, not to move you onto a different contract. Owner Omari Grant will tell you plainly if a vehicle will not meet your lender's year or mileage limits.

What does my credit union need from the dealership?

Accepted Answer

Usually a buyer's order or bill of sale with the VIN, the sale price, and the dealership's information, plus a copy of the title work. FLAS prepares those documents and sends them directly to your lender. Requirements vary by institution, so call your lender first and bring their checklist.

Do all your cars qualify for outside financing?

Accepted Answer

Not always. Banks and credit unions set their own limits on vehicle age, mileage, and book value, and older or higher-mileage cars are often declined regardless of the buyer. Can I use outside financing for any used car in inventory?

Outside financing from banks and credit unions can be used on a vehicle in our inventory only if it meets your lender's age, mileage, loan-to-value, and other guidelines. FLAS can help match a vehicle to the rules your lender provides; inspection and warranty coverage do not replace the lender's approval.

Completely. Buy here pay here is FLAS's in-house financing for buyers who need it. Outside financing means your lender funds the purchase on their terms. Same inspected car and same 90-day warranty either way; different paperwork and a different lender.

What if my approval expires before I find a car?

Accepted Answer

Most approvals are valid for 30 to 60 days. Call with the vehicle type and budget your lender approved and FLAS will tell you what is currently in inventory and what is arriving, so you are not burning approval time driving between lots.
